Local Environmental Action

At BT Sourced we partner with Flossie and The Beach Cleaners, a Dublin-based marine environmental charity, to support local sustainability and community engagement through hands-on volunteering.

Below are an overview of some of the activities we do together:

  1. Coastal & Canal Clean-Ups

    • BT Sourced employees regularly volunteer for clean-up events along Dublin’s beaches and local canals, helping to remove plastic waste and other litter from these vital ecosystems.

    • Volunteers use eco-friendly materials like hemp bags and reusable gloves, reinforcing BT Sourced's commitment to sustainable practices.

  2. Environmental Awareness

    • These events often include educational sessions led by Flossie's team, raising awareness about the impact of plastic pollution and the importance of protecting marine and freshwater environments.

  3. Community & Team Building

    • The partnership not only benefits the environment but also strengthens team spirit and community ties among BT Sourced staff, who are encouraged to take part as part of their volunteering days.

BT Sourced employees are entitled to up to three working days per year of paid volunteering leave. This time can be used to support causes they are passionate about, including:

  • Local community projects
  • Environmental clean-ups
  • Charity fundraising events
  • Skills-based volunteering (e.g., mentoring, digital training)
  • Civic roles (e.g., school governors, magistrates)

These volunteering days are part of BT's broader commitment to community engagement and employee development, encouraging staff to make a meaningful impact while building skills and team spirit.
