Procurement Act 2023

As a major supplier of digital infrastructure and services to the UK public sector, BT Group must comply with the Procurement Act 2023. The Act introduces a more transparent, flexible, and outcomes-focused regime. By ensuring compliance with the Act, BT will continue to hold its position as a trusted partner to the UK Government, unlocking new opportunities, and supporting national priorities like digital inclusion and sustainability.

In this context and to ensure that BT remains compliant with its legal obligations under the Act, BT requires its suppliers to also comply with the Act.

Specifically, suppliers are required to:

Ensure transparency in supply chains, subcontracting, and performance reporting.

Engage with digital procurement systems and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.

Demonstrate social value, innovation, and sustainability in their offerings.

Comply with ethical standards, including anti-slavery, anti-corruption, and fair labour practices.

Be contractually and legally prepared for increased scrutiny, compliance and performance accountability and ready to support BT in meeting the requirements of the Act.

Adhere to fair payment practices: BT is required to pay suppliers working on public sector contracts within 30 days, and we require our suppliers to uphold the same standard throughout their own supply chains

Support BT's public sector commitments by delivering value for money and measurable public benefit.

In doing so, suppliers will help BT maintain its trusted position in public sector delivery and ensure compliance with the evolving regulatory landscape.
